Le Centre de santé Tulattavik de L’Ungava est situé à Kuujjuaq. Il dispense l’ensemble des services de santé et services sociaux dans la partie est du Nunavik. Il dessert sept communautés Inuites avec autant de CLSC, un centre pour personnes âgées et un centre hospitalier à Kuujjuaq. Il emploie environ 1,000 employés : administrateurs, professionnels, médecins, dentistes, psychologues, infirmiers, travailleurs sociaux, personnel de soutien, employés occasionnels, etc.

Les communautés du Nunavik sont situées au nord du 55e parallèle où prévaut un climat subarctique. Il entraîne l’existence d’un pergélisol et ne permet aucune agriculture. Le Nunavik est la plus grande région couvrant environ le tiers de la superficie globale du Québec. Aucune liaison routière n’existe entre les communautés du Nunavik et le Québec méridional, ni entre les communautés du Nunavik elles-mêmes. On a accès à cette région et à ses communautés que par avion et par bateau.

FONCTIONS :

Chargé(e) d’identifier les besoins de santé des personnes, de prodiguer et de contrôler les soins infirmiers que requiert la promotion de la santé, la prévention de la maladie, le traitement et la réadaptation ainsi que de prodiguer des soins selon une ordonnance médicale lorsque requis.

La personne sera appelée à travailler selon l‘approche multidisciplinaire en suivi infantile (0-5 ans). Elle sera également appelée à travailler dans les autres programmes du CLSC au besoin, notamment en complémentarité avec l’infirmière pivot en pédiatrie, en santé scolaire et l’équipe enfance-jeunesse famille. Des déplacements occasionnels en communauté pour soutenir la vaccination sont possibles.

· Membre en règle de l'O.I.I.Q.;

· Baccalauréat en sciences infirmières ou un baccalauréat comportant trois (3) certificats admissibles dont au moins deux (2) certificats reconnus en soins infirmiers;

· Minimum de deux ans d’expérience en petite enfance;

· Expérience de travail en région isolée et en milieu interculturel serait un atout;

· Connaissance du programme SIPPE et de la pédiatrie sociale;

· Bilinguisme français/anglais parlé et écrit essentiel, la connaissance de l’Inuktitut est un atout;

· Aptitude à travailler en équipe multidisciplinaire;

· Capacité à établir une relation thérapeutique avec la clientèle;

· Sens de l’organisation, créativité, initiative et autonomie.

SALAIRE: Min: 1015.50.$ Max: 1799.25$ / semaine

PRIME D’ÉLOIGNEMENT: 203.66$ semaine ou selon le statut familial

PRIME VIE-CHÈRE : 74.17$ / semaine ou selon le statut familial

PRIME DE RÉTENTION: 391.86$ / semaine

The Ungava Tulattavik Health Center is located in Kuujjuaq and offers the whole health and social services in the eastern part of Nunavik. Serving seven Inuit communities with an equal number of CLSC, a center for the elderly and the hospital in Kuujjuaq, it employs approximately 1,000 employees: administrators, professionals, doctors, dentists, psychologists, nurses, social workers, support staff, etc. 

Nunavik communities are located north of the 55th parallel where a subarctic climate prevails. It implies the existence of permafrost allowing no agriculture.  Nunavik is the largest region covering about a third of the total area of Quebec.  No road link exists between the communities of Nunavik and southern Quebec, and between Nunavik communities themselves. We have access to the region and its communities by air travel and by boat.

STATUS: Permanent full time position (37.50 hours/week)

IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: Head of program – public health and hospital services

STARTING DATE: As soon as possible

FUNCTIONS:

Responsible for identifying people's health needs, providing and monitoring nursing care required for health promotion, disease prevention, treatment and rehabilitation, and providing care according to medical prescription when required.

The person will be called upon to work according to the multidisciplinary approach in child follow-up (0-5 years). He/she will also be called upon to work in other CLSC programs as needed, notably in complementarity with the pivot nurse in pediatrics, school health and the child-youth-family team. Occasional travel to the community to support vaccination is possible.

REQUIREMENTS:

· Member of the O.I.I.Q;

· Bachelor’s degree in nursing sciences or bachelor’s degree including 3 eligible certificates of which at least 2 are recognized in nursing;

· Two years of experience in early childhood;

· Experience working in remote area and in a multicultural environment would be an asset;

· Knowledge of SIPPE program and social pediatrics;

· Bilingualism French/English spoken and written is essential and Inuktitut an asset;

· Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team;

· Ability to establish a therapeutic relationship with the clientele;

· Strong organizational skills, creativity, initiative and autonomy.

SALARY: Min: $1015.50 Max: $1799.25$ / week

ISOLATION PREMIUM: $203.66/ week, or as per the family status

HIGH COST LIVING PREMIUM: $74.17/week or as per the family status

RETENTION PREMIUM: $391.86 / week

Any person recruited in Quebec more than 50 kilometers from the locality in which she is called upon to perform her duties, will be granted annual trips and lodging (shared lodging or transit).
